Welcome to our gallery featuring a fantastic modern home by Gregory Phillips Architects with photography by Darren Chung.
Gregory Phillips Architects is an award-winning architect and interior design firm established in 1991, with the goal of making each home they work on uniquely suited to their client’s needs and creating a space in every room in the house that is welcoming.
This project is the total remodel of a non-Georgian home that included an addition to the home in the form of a sunroom with large glass panels to make the occupants feel as though they were sitting in the back garden.
The entire roof space was rebuilt to grant the home an additional two bedrooms and a bathroom.
The high-end kitchen, featured above, is of modern design, featuring glossy white cabinets with long chrome fixtures and low-back barstools at the eat-in portion of the kitchen island. Other “bonus” rooms in this home include a home theater.
Gregory Phillips Architects has created a beautiful contemporary home with modern flair that takes full advantage of the space provided and through excellent design, makes the home feel even larger.
We hope this home will serve as an example of how functional and “lived-in” a modern home can feel.
A view of the kitchen’s main preparation area, including the stainless steel island countertop and glossy countertops elsewhere in the room.
A close up on the refrigerator that has been cleverly merged with the cabinetry for a truly seamless appearance.
This kitchen is modestly sized, but is built to get some serious cooking done, with four convection ovens and two warming drawers.
The hardwood breakfast table has lighter legs than the top, and the slim dining chairs are in a much darker tone. On the wall behind the table is a long wooden countertop with cabinetry above and below it. The countertop is home to several potted herbs.
Double doors leading from the entryway look in on the breakfast table.
Through the doorway next to the breakfast table is a pair of French doors that lead out into the garden. Visible is the wooden planking that serves as a footbridge across the water feature.
The sunroom is furnished like a traditional indoor living room, with large, seamless floor-to-ceiling windows that allow the occupants to enjoy the warm sunlight and garden scenery.
The additional also gives the home two places to access the garden; the kitchen and the sunroom. Folding glass doors that lead across the water feature to the patio can be kept open to let a cool breeze roll in.
One of the home’s three bathrooms, with a floating sink in brown granite and a beige tile backsplash. The his-and-hers vessel sinks have wall mounted faucets in chrome.
The large, deep, luxurious soaking tub in the primary bathroom, freestanding on dark charcoal tiles. A single painting of lush foliage is on the wall behind the tub.
A view from the bathtub to the floating single vanity on the opposite side of the room, which runs under half of the wall-mounted sink. A shelf above the sink with an inset mirror is built into the wall and acts as additional storage.
