Greg Zipadelli is a successful NASCAR racing crew chief who has won 34 races and two championships back in 2002 and 2005.
Zipadelli’s first achievement was back in 1988 when he and driver Mike McLaughlin won a championship together just after he started his career as a crew chief of his family’s team. The two proceed to win another five races during their four year partnership as a crew chief and a driver.
In 1999, Zipadelli joined Joe Gibbs Racing and got partnered with Tony Stewart, an IndyCar Series champ turned NASCAR rookie. The two immediately nabbed awards such as the 1999 Rookie of the Year award, three Chase for the NEXTEL Cup appearances, two championships in 2002 and 2005 along with 3 races rookie-record. The pair currently holds the longest crew chief-driver partnership in NASCAR. However, the two parted ways in 2008 season as Stewart departed from JGR.
After Stewart’s departure, Joey Logano took over his place with Zipadelli as his crew chief.
