The fabric headboard is an alternative to the traditional wooden headboard. This look allows designers to give color and personality to a bed, beyond mere frame work.
Headboards were historically created for much more than a pretty sight. The footboard, however, was created for a balanced look, and is a beautiful addition only.
Wooden headboards were created to shield sleepers from drafts and cold air blowing through poorly insulated buildings. The wood in the headboard would create a barrier to make the cold air fall to the floor, rather than the bed.
Today, buildings are much better insulated, and the issue of cold drafts in the bedroom is not a problem. Instead, we’ve moved from intricately designed wooden headboards, to a new route: upholstered headboards.
The fabric on the headboard can be completely personalized depending on the bedroom. Whether you’re looking for a neutral tone or a bright splash of color, you can pick and choose with fabric headboards.
The great thing about fabric headboards is that you can choose any pattern you can imagine. For example, if you have a kid’s room that needs some fun patterns, try putting a pink and white zebra fabric headboard up!
If you’re looking for a regal and modern look for the primary bedroom, pick out a sleek black or white fabric. The choice is yours!
