Edwin Castro, 31, is America’s largest-ever Powerball winner, and he recently made a serious real estate move. Castro won the jackpot of $2 billion and purchased an incredible seven-bedroom, 11-bath mansion on a hill in the Los Angeles Bel Air neighborhood. The lotto winner opted for the lump sum payment of $997.6 million and purchased the incredible, modern home for $25.5 million.
This contemporary abode is called the “Palazzo di Vista” and was designed by Alex Kadavi, a popular surgeon for the stars. Kadavi built the home in partnership with Ali Rad Design Group.

The home offers breathtaking views of the San Gabriel Mountains all the way to the Channel Islands and features a sleek, dark marble and glass motif. It also has a DJ table located in the main foyer, a pool-sized koi pond, an infinity pool, a glass elevator, and a champagne tasting room. There’s also a massive theater room for entertaining large parties, a tequila bar, a wine room with glass walls, and several dining spaces and lounge areas.
This impressive space also boasts a suspended glass floor walkway for added oomph. A line of tall palm trees surrounds the grounds, adding both privacy and a classic California look.
The primary suite has a floating, wraparound deck with a luxurious spa-style bath. Each bedroom has its own wardrobe and sitting areas called “relaxation suites” along with extra-large bathtubs where guests or residents can relax and soak their cares away. The kitchen features an open floor plan with easy access to the outside.
Thanks to glass walls, Castro and his guests will never miss out on the views. The mansion sits on over one acre of land with plenty of privacy. The infinity pool is enhanced with several seven-horsepower jets that can move in sync with music so swimmers can relax as they listen to, and feel the beat playing.
There’s also a unique NFT gallery with seven indoor media displays and a 2D laser projector that emits light in unique patterns up to 1,650 square feet over the pool.
It’s clear that this Beverly Hills mansion was made for entertainment, but it also offers lots of seclusion, so the owner can remain completely private while relaxing at home. Located in one of the most sought-after neighborhoods in Los Angeles, this modern mansion is part of Bel Air, LA’s Platinum Triangle. It’s one of the world’s most expensive neighborhoods and is popular due to the number of celebrities who reside there.
Aside from the multi-million-dollar homes, Bel Air is also conveniently located near the famous Rodeo Drive shopping district. It’s also close to Downtown LA, Hollywood, and LAX. Some of its most famous residents include Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lawrence, and others.
It should also be mentioned that Edwin Castro got himself quite a deal. The mansion was once listed for just under $88 million, so he was able to purchase it for a fraction of the price. And don’t worry about Castro – he’ll still have around $600 million after taxes in his bank account to spend, even after he purchased the home.
After this purchase, Castro expanded his real estate portfolio even further, buying a total of three California mansions for a total price of about $76 million. Some have also seen the Powerball winner driving around town in a vintage Porsche 911.
