Welcome to our gallery featuring the innovative 62nd Street home by Baran Studio.

This open-plan home is a single family residence located in Oakland, California.

The sprawling landscape houses a refreshingly bright and open structure with plenty of natural materials throughout.

Standing on a uncommonly large lot for an urban development, the home truly takes advantage of the land by spreading outward and integrating with its neighborhood context.

Both indoor and outdoor components of the home flow seamlessly into one another, affording a continuous experience of space.

A thematic linkage is created between these spaces via an adaptive wood element that stretches from the front fence to the main entry and on through the interior, ending in the back garden as a fence again.

This unique structural element is one of many sustainable qualities that were integrated into the material infrastructure. In fact, you’ll see rich natural wood throughout the home, including rows of bespoke exposed beams running the length of the ceiling.

Within the broad open space at the heart of the home, a living room, dining area, and kitchen share a continuous floor plan. At the far end, the kitchen is defined by dark cabinetry and marble backsplashes.

Large sliding glass panels help visually connect the indoor and outdoor spaces, offering spectacular views of the surrounding landscape and rich wood fencing.

The high contrast look of this home, with natural elements juxtaposed against expanses of minimalist white, makes for a timeless appeal.
