With this gallery we are proud to share a sunroom renovation submitted by one of our readers!
The two-year renovation, during which the family lived upstairs, encompassed the entire lower level of the home, including the addition of this spectacular sunroom.
With a large stone fireplace commanding attention, and exceptionally tall windows wrapped all the way around, this space was built as the framework for the impressive room it was destined to become.
After completing the structure, a stone tile floor was laid down below the rich cedar walls. A large beam was placed on the stonework as a mantle, sanded and finished with iron braces.
With a combination of exquisite furniture and lush greenery, this living room-like space was transformed into an inviting, open, sun-filled standout within the home. Follow, as we present the impressive before and after pictures.
Before
While the extensive woodwork all around was a great start, the floor and every other detail was removed from the original space. Here we see the space as a completely gutted canvas.
The natural wood exposed beams in the vaulted ceiling are an architectural highlight in the home. The stone fireplace creates a perfect rustic contrast.
New sets of windows and glass French doors were installed, linking the sunroom to the main body of the house.
The fresh stone floor tiles involve a unique red brick pattern that wraps the room.
Here we have the floor entirely complete, with new windows and frames installed, and the room itself almost ready for the new furniture.
After
Here’s a vertical look at the freshly renovated sunroom. Rattan furniture in bespoke neutral tones is paired with rich natural wood hues throughout the space.
Abundant greenery was added, helping emphasize the sunroom’s connection with the outdoors. The canoe-framed, glass-topped coffee table can be seen at left.
Here we see new ceiling fans installed on the exposed beams. Similar design elements on the mantle tie the room together.
With a wider view, we are able to appreciate the huge array of windows casting sunlight throughout the room. Here we can also glimpse the accent chairs and small table in the left corner, offering additional seating.
The contrasting tones of the furniture, with grey rattan, natural wood, and glass textures stand out amidst the stone and wood room with a subtle elegance.
We leave you with one final vertical shot of the room, highlighting the soaring vaulted ceiling and commanding presence of the stone fireplace.
